Wickrange, MAY 19, 2026
Following the success of its exhibition dedicated to Ayrton Senna, which attracted more than 17,500 visitors in just six months, Galleria 610 is preparing to open a new chapter in its programming with an exceptional exhibition devoted to the history of rally racing. Starting May 20, the venue will host “The Golden Age of Rally”, a unique immersion into the golden era of motorsport.
First presented at the Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile (MAUTO) in Turin between October 2022 and May 2023, the exhibition was an outstanding success, attracting more than 165,000 visitors and nearly doubling the museum's attendance during that period. Galleria 610 is now hosting the exhibition in collaboration with MAUTO and the Fondazione Gino Macaluso per l'Auto Storica.
A unique collection of rally legends
At the heart of the exhibition is an exceptional selection of iconic cars that left their mark on the world's greatest rally events, from the Monte Carlo Rally to the Safari Rally, including the Rally of the 1000 Lakes in Finland and the Sanremo Rally. Preserved in their original condition, these models from the collection of Gino Macaluso — entrepreneur, driver, and major figure in motorsport — reflect the technical and aesthetic evolution of rally racing between the 1960s and the 1990s. The exhibition also pays tribute to a key moment in his career: October 27, 1972, when he won the European Championship alongside Raffaele Pinto.
Among the vehicles on display, visitors will be able to discover iconic models such as the Lancia Stratos, the Lancia Delta S4, the Alpine Renault A110, the Toyota Celica GT-4, and the Lancia Delta Integrale, symbol of the four-wheel-drive revolution.
Legendary rivalries and technological revolution
“The Golden Age of Rally” retraces an era in which innovation, boldness, and team spirit shaped the legend of motorsport. The exhibition highlights the great rivalries that defined the discipline, notably the iconic manufacturer battles between Lancia and Audi, as well as Peugeot versus Renault. The exhibition route also immerses visitors in the spectacular Group B era, the legendary period of the 1980s marked by ultra-powerful cars and extreme performances that still fuel the collective imagination today.
An immersion into the heart of rally racing
Beyond the vehicles themselves, the exhibition stands out through its rich collection of original objects and archives. Rally plates from the 1950s through the 2000s, historic Fiat and Lancia posters, scale models, as well as roadbooks, co-drivers' notebooks, and navigation instruments illustrate the complexity and precision of the sport.
Rare and personal items, such as helmets and equipment belonging to champions like Sandro Munari and Marcus Grönholm, as well as objects once owned by Gino Macaluso himself, offer an intimate glimpse into the world of rally racing.
Trophies, awards, historical photographs, and technical equipment complete this immersive experience, providing an in-depth understanding of the rally world and its demands.
A journey through the world's greatest rally events
Presented for a limited six-month period, the exhibition is aimed at both enthusiasts and newcomers alike, offering a historical, technical, and human perspective on rally racing. With “The Golden Age of Rally”, Galleria 610 offers a fascinating dive into an era where boldness, innovation, and team spirit shaped the legend of motorsport. A must-see exhibition for all enthusiasts and curious visitors.
