The BMW M3 E46 was introduced at the beginning of the 2000s as the third generation of BMW's legendary performance model. Following the motorsport-bred E30 and the more refined E36, the E46 brought the M3 formula to a new level, combining everyday usability with the precision, balance and mechanical character expected from BMW Motorsport.
At its heart was the naturally aspirated S54 3.2-litre inline-six engine, producing 343 hp at 7,900 rpm and 365 Nm of torque. Introduced in 2001, the Convertible version added open-top motoring to the M3 experience while retaining the model's unmistakable identity.
